And does this one get on your nerves as much as it does mine? (depois de brincar, com seu bichinho!!!!!)
I've taken the time to type up what the guy is singing, but in English (because the youtube video had the lyrics in Portuguese):
Lave, Lave - Você lavou as mãos?
----
Wash, wash! Did you wash your hands? There's bacteria on everything we touch, and it can make you sick! You must wash your hands a lot. Wait! After you go to the bathroom! Wait! After you play. Wait! After you cough, sneeze, after you play with your pet! Wash your hands with Protex....
-------
I hate the way they repeat the word "brincar". So unoriginal. The jingle doesn't even rhyme. I channel my grandfather when this commercial comes on, and I mute the TV. But when the "snobby" one comes on, I just chuckle.
I actually like the wash one better. sorry =(
ReplyDeleteMy kids think it's so funny that we have snob paper towels. I've never seen the commercial, but I like the "mommy, make snobby here" (at least that's what I got with my bad Portuguese) and the whispering "snobby". Ah the voices we hear when being domestic...
ReplyDeleteI personally couldn't take this one for Dolly refrigerante/father's day

It's funny how commercials are different regionally, here in Rio these aren't passing at all.
Funny indeed. The name "Snob" makes me laugh, as do a lot of English-named products. The tortilla brand here is called "Bimbo" and there's a store in the mall here called "Shoulder" :)
I love the unintended meanings when English words are used (or appear). My favorite is "Kinky Jeans" fashion boutique for young girls. Somebody should tell them!
ReplyDeleteTV muting is one of the most important things we learn from our grandfathers!
ReplyDeletehahah! Snob. I understood a little of it, but the name really made it for me :)
ReplyDeleteYesterday I saw a billboard for a maternity clothing store called... wait for it... "Megadose"
